Parks and Recreation Centers Near the Gainesville, Va., Haymarket & Bristow Areas

It’s the beginning of July and usually around this time we try to figure out a couple more plans before the summer ends. Prince William and its surrounding areas have some amazing parks and recreational facilities that we would like to share with you today. Whether you are looking to be outside on a hike or in the pool or learning a new hobby or trying that new dance class, here is the list for you:

Are you looking for a fun swim day to cool off with your family? Splashdown Waterpark, located in Manassas, has been around for years. In fact, we used to frequent the park with our daughter when she was younger. The park has much to offer including tubing down the Lazy River or feeling the adrenaline rush from going down one of the slides. With great rates and fun for all ages, Splashdown Waterpark is certainly a fun day event. Check out all of the additional information at Splashdown Waterpark.

Ben Lomond Community Center in Manassas offers a wide variety of fun for all. Is your little one interested in dance? They offer ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. There are also fun sports camps, drama camps, creative cuisine classes, and many more fun instructional classes for our awesome youth. And they did not forget about the adults! They offer new ways to be your healthiest self with Ballet Aerobics, Hot Hula, Zumba, and Big East Coast Swing! This center also offers a new way to spend some extra time with the family with their Family Fun Night and Scavenger Hunts. Check out all of the fun that is to be had at Ben Lomond Community Center.

The Freedom Center located in Manassas has played a vital role in many lives in the area. It has everything from the pool, water slide, summer camps (gymnastics, basketball, and more), volleyball and pickleball for the adults, and a state of the art fitness facility. If you are over in the Lake Ridge or Woodbridge area, come check out Lake Ridge Golf and Marina. From the Par 3, 9-hole golf course to the Marina to nature trails, there is something for everyone. We have gone to the Marina many times to kayak and it has been a pleasurable experience every time. Check out all of the amazing things to do here at Lake Ridge Golf and Marina.

Manassas Park opened up its fantastic Community Center that has some of the best deals around especially for senior citizens. It has everything from summer camps, cooking classes, dog parks, and so much more. This is definitely a complex you won’t want to miss. The Warrenton Aquatic and Recreation Facility, or the WARF, offers all things water including a competition pool, a leisure pool, and a kid-friendly water area to ensure safety. It also offers a welcoming gym with great equipment. You can check it all out at the WARF.

Would you like to learn a little bit of history while hiking? Come on out to the Manassas Battlefield. It is incredibly rich in history and the scenery can’t be beat. With incredible hiking trails you are able to be in the heart of Manassas but enjoy the quiet escape of the battlefield. You can check out which trail you’d like to go on at Manassas Battlefields.
