According to the US Census Bureau, Prince William County has a total area of 348 square miles. Twelve square miles of that is water. The county is bordered to the north by Loudoun and Fairfax Counties, to the South by Stafford County, to the east by the Potomac River, and to the west by Fauquier County.
As of the last census in 2010, the population of PWC was 402,002. It was estimated to have grown to 437, 636 in 2014 which would make it the second-most populous county in Virginia.
The county seat is Manassas.
In 2013, Prince William County had the seventh highest income of any county in the United States.
